NOVIC Field Day
Organic Variety Trials and Plant Breeding Research Field Day

Tour organic research projects at the OSU Lewis Brown Farm and Gathering Together Farm. During this afternoon field day, organic plant breeder Dr. Jim Myers will share information on projects currently underway at the university including the NOVIC (Northern Organic Variety Improvement Collaborative) project which works on season extension for broccoli, sweet corn, chicories, snap peas, butternut squash and carrots. The tour will also include visiting trials of late blight resistant tomatoes and mild habanero peppers.
The field day will be held on Thursday, September 20th from 1:00 – 5:00.
Thanks to a grant from the USDA-OREI, this course is being offered at no charge.
