EUCARPIA Meeting

Date:
Thu, 06/25/2015 - 13:30 - Fri, 06/26/2015 - 13:00

Join CIOA's Lori Hoagland at EUCARPIA's workshop on implementing plant microbe interactions in plant breeding in Weihenstephan, Germany where she'll be presenting the keynote speach titled, "Breeding for beneficial belowground interaction."

The workshop aims is to create a network among plant breeders and researchers to different disciplines to explore the potential of utilizing plant microbe interaction in plant breeding. A large portion of the meeting will be devoted to discussions on potentials and limitations of implementing the vast growing knowledge on plant microbe interaction in plant breeding in order to improve stress resistance, plant nutrition, plant health and general adaptability, and links between upstream disciplines and breeding. This will foster the dialogue between the different disciplines in order to develop efficient breeding strategies for the future.
